Well, well. Here we all are. Again. If things seem a little Déjà Vu, aka Groundhog Day-esque, it’s because they are. It was about this time last year – right before the holidays (weird, right?) that the original Hatchimals made their debut. After “the kids” got a glimpse of these, they started making their way onto Santa lists far and wide. Shortly thereafter, things took a left turn. It became mission impossible to get your hands on one of these, that is unless you were willing to pay $679, plus your soul – and most of your dignity. So who’s ready to do it all again?
Timing is everything and they’ve now released the new Hatchimals Surprise. At first glance, they look strikingly similar to their predecessors. But don’t be fooled. Inside these speckled eggs lurks not one, but two Hatchimals. Twins! That’s right, you’ll receive two little critters for all your troubles.
Since they arrive in the egg stage, they’ll need some love, attention and time in order to break free from their little egg prisons. Play with the eggs long enough and you’ll not only hear their sounds of approval egging you on (see what I did there?), but you’ll also see their rainbow eyes. Which can only mean one thing – they’re ready to hatch! After one Hatchimal pushes his way to freedom, it’s time to lift the second one out of the egg (evidently, that one’s lazy).
Now that they’ve hatched, let the games begin! Just like real life, each one has it’s own personality. One twin is a mover and a shaker, while the other twin can repeat whatever you say. So basically, you’ve got to watch what you say around another set of ears, because nobody needs these little creatures telling you where to go. As they “grow” from babies to toddlers, and finally to kids, they’ll sing, dance, tell jokes and play games. But here’s the moment you’ve been waiting for. They’ll interact with each other, not only in a sweet, loving way – but they’ll also bicker! What? Yes! It’s only fair that our kids have to deal with arguing Peacats and Puppadees. How do you kids like it?
