Q & A
Nobody needs their smoothies tasting like onions, so we’ve got some tips for keeping things clean before pulling everything apart.
I don’t want to scrub anything, so what can I put in there? Fill your blender about half way with warm water, add a few drops of your favorite liquid dish soap and blend things up on low. Need a little more? You can add a bit of vinegar (nature’s bleach!) to the mix. Just don’t drink it, no matter how cute and fun the bubbles look. Oh and make sure the cover is on tightly. Unless you’re looking to wash the countertop, backsplash and maybe some cabinets as well.
Ok I need to do some scrubbing, what tools can I use? If things are a little gross in there, and your sponge isn’t doing the trick, you can use a toothbrush and a little elbow grease. Without the toothpaste and mouthwash of course. Because that would be weird.
I let it sit way too long, and it isn’t pretty. Anything? Ideally, you want to wash things out within a reasonable timeframe, but sometimes distractions happen. And by distractions, we may also mean we just didn’t feel like it. A ratio of 1:1 of baking soda and water can help clean things out. Run the mixture through on low, and dump out the sludge.
