The Review Rundown:
If you know me by now you know I’m all about shopping some of the trendiest items I can find online. I never thought that I would classify luggage as trendy but, alas, here we are. I first saw Away Travel on my Insta-feed and fell in love with some of their most eye-catching color options. When all you see at the airport is banged up black suitcases coming down the belt, it’s totally refreshing to see your own colorful luggage heading your way. By the way, I got the “blush” colored suitcase and have gotten more compliments than I can count.
Ok, so the deal with Away is that the have all different luggage sizes, but I’ve only purchased the standard carry-on and their medium suitcase version. I got mine a little over a year ago and, at the time, the blush color was the coolest in their selection. Now they have colors like wine matte, sage matte, rouge, and coast blue just to name a few. Some are currently limited edition so I’m not sure how long some of them will be around for.
Perhaps what my favorite thing about my Away luggage is the battery charger that comes with it. You can actually charge your devices up to four-times before you have to charge up the battery again. This came in way handy when you’re waiting for your flight, at the train station, or just on the road and need a little boost for your phone when your battery is just about dunzo. Plus, when you’re at the airport everyone is crowded around those two available outlets and then you have to make awkward smalltalk so I’m grateful I can charge my phone right from my very own (colorful) suitcase.
At first I was a little nervous about the battery because I knew there was no way it was going to easily pass through TSA and I had read that it was screwed into the luggage. Can you imagine trying to unscrew it while in that line?! The good news is that that was their original model from years ago. Now it’s been resigned and is easily ejectable in a moments notice if need be. It’s also already TSA compliant and they’ll even allow you to bring it directly into the cabin with you. It’s really been life-changing for me. I’m sure it will be for you too!

- Even the basic carry-on is a little pricy (for my budget), but still worth it.
The Real Deal With Coupons + Promo Codes:
Well you know I love a good deal. And if I can find a working promo code, I’m all over it. I spent a dumb amount of time trying to find a coupon for Away Travel that actually worked. Bad news. No luck. Since I’m a pain, too, I decided to email their customer service contact to ask if they offered promo codes and would they consider providing me one. I know, terrible. The rep was very gracious, but did inform me that they didn’t currently offer and that ones I’ll find on third party websites were not from them and, therefore, would not work. Sadly they didn’t offer me one either. Hey, it was worth the ask! I just appreciated that they even wrote me back. Can you imagine the questions they regularly get?!
I was able to discover they currently offer you $20 off when you refer a friend and they make a purchase. Check that out here.
And when you decide to purchase the entire set (either two or three) you can take anywhere from $45 – $100 off. It’s worth it if you’re in need of total luggage replacement. So, overall, no luck with coupon codes, but still some ways to save a bit.
