The Review Rundown:
It started with a quick and simple backyard update and turned into a major backyard renovation. That’s how I was originally introduced to Houzz. I’m always Googling something and was looking for some inspiring backyard remodel designs…on a budget. I got my pergola from Wayfair, but when I was looking to really take my yard to the next level I needed some additional help. Low and behold, Houzz popped up on the results and now I’m basically addicted to their site.

I was originally looking for that fancy outdoor furniture that’s basically like couches that can stay outside all year round. I didn’t want to spend the $4,000 I saw on some other sites. I knew it would be kind of expensive, but I’m not willing to pay the equivalent of a few mortgage payments. I found an amazing one on sale for less than $1,000 for the entire 5 piece set. Well from there things just snowballed.
I ended up with these super cool side pieces (think end-tables without the drawers), an umbrella, really amazing landscape lighting and, my most favorite – endless strings of bistro-style string lights. I won’t tell you how much I spent because even though I’m a bargain hunter and the prices were more than decent it still totaled to way too much. The good news is that we basically live in our outdoor space for the majority of the weekend (and some work from home days) when the weather is right. I’m working on an outdoor heater next!
In the end I was really happy. I did have to return/exchange the outdoor “couch” set because one piece was damaged, but I did contact their customer service department and not only were they really apologetic, but they sent me a replacement of the damaged piece and told me just to keep the damaged one if I wanted. It was just basically dinged up so I was cool with keeping it and using it for extra seating!
I’m definitely going to keep shopping online there, especially when it comes to their decor selection. It’s also really worth it to check out their Photos-By-Room section because it’ll give you a ton of ideas that you won’t see everywhere else. It’s almost like having your own interior designer with you.
These are a Few of Our Favorite Things:
There’s a lot of options at Houzz. Almost too much, but I guess there’s no such thing as too much! In case you’re not really sure where to start or where to look I’ve put together a short list of some of my favorite things. I hope it helps you out.

Legit Pros:
- Their selection is pretty enormous.
- Customer service was a total A+.
- Their photo guides helped give me a ton of ideas that I wouldn’t have come up with on my own.
- You can find experts right in your area that they’ve vetted in case you need professional help.
- They have some top sellers that have gone viral all for $100 and less!
Legit Cons:
- Since the selection was so overwhelming I had a hard time narrowing choices down.
- I wish all their shipping was free (at least standard). Some items are, but not everything I got. Bummer.
The Real Deal With Coupons + Promo Codes:
If you know me by now you know I pride myself on finding coupons for just about every online purchase I make. Paying full price is always the worst. I’ve researched a ton of different promo code options for Houzz, but when I was trying them while checking out they didn’t work. Either I was too late or they were just fake.
So I took to their customer service department to ask them about it. They were kind enough to indulge me, but explained that those codes aren’t from them so they’re likely not to work. Now they didn’t offer me one to use since I was chatting with them, but they did let me know about the coupons they have for money off when you spend more. I’ll list those details below, but basically you can save up to $40 on your item(s) when you spend a certain amount. Here’s their official details on that.
I’d personally love to partner with them so that they could offer our readers an exclusive discount so if/when that ever happens I’ll let you know right away!
So for now, check out some of our fave promos from Houzz in January 2023.
